Rob Little - Aug 6, 7
Rob Little’s outlook on life can be summed-up in two words: Pure Optimism. At a young age, he developed and nurtured an upbeat philosophy about life. "In elementary school, kids would always pull food away from me at lunchtime saying mean, hurtful things like… ’Let go of my sandwich!’" Fortunately, Rob’s ability to see things in a positive light, coupled with his desire to make people laugh, has served him well. While working in a lucrative position as a computer programmer for IBM, he decided to take a huge risk. The Detroit-born comic sent out an ALL-company e-mail that read "If you aren’t happy here, quit your job and follow your dream." IBM promptly gave him his walking papers, but getting fired was a blessing for Rob and comedy lovers nationwide. He now enjoys an incredibly successful career as a standup comedian and with an impressive and growing portfolio of television and film appearances, he is quickly earning national recognition.Watch Rob in action, and you’ll agree that he is one of the very best stand-up comedians in the country. A sketch comedy player on the Fox Sports Net Show, The Best Damn Sports Show Period and Last Call with Carson Daly, Little uses his training from the world famous Second City Comedy Club to create routines that are inventive, funny, spontaneous, and completely unique. He headlines clubs and colleges all over the country, has appeared in national television commercials and on such shows as Strictly Sex with Dr. Drew, Comedy Central’s Distraction, Fox News and SiTV’s Latino Laugh Festival. He also earned a role on the CBS network summer hit series, Fire me Please. Rob’s recently released 2nd comedy DVD/CD, Haulin’ Ass, is another testament to his talent and status as a comedic force.
Having established himself as one of the funniest, most progressive, new comedians in the country, it’s easy to understand why entertainment bookers call him "The Future of comedy with more contagious energy than the Energizer Bunny". The Detroit Free press selected him as Michigan’s “Best up and Coming Comedian”, and he earned the title of “finalist” in both the Seattle and San Francisco International Comedy Competitions. Rob was also selected as a feature performer at the Chicago Comedy Festival along with the Boston Comedy and Movie Festival. And in 2007 Rob was named Maxim Magazine’s “Real Man of Comedy”.
Don’t let the "Little" name fool you. Little is BIG! But that has never slowed him down. "Yeah, I’m big, and all my relatives are too. Heck, we just got our family portrait done by aerial photography. And there are only three of us." The truth is, Rob is big in more ways than one. With a grin on his face, a gleam in his eye, and a passion for comedy that is larger than life, he’s the biggest thing to happen to comedy in a long, long time.
April Macie - Aug 13, 14
Do you remember the girl in your highschool who had a horrible rumor spread about her? It might have involved a football team, a dog and some peanut butter or processed meat. Well, that girl in Easton, Pennsylvania was April Macie. So, where did she turn for comfort? Not to her family... cause' they're all crazy. Crazy or drunk... oh yeah, or slightly retarded. So, where do you go when you're an outcast in school and your family tree is rotten? While some might sit rocking in the fetal position... slowly humming Copa CopaCabbana, others might turn to the lord and April turned to promiscuity. Promiscuity and then comedy. With her irreverent brand of overtly sexual humor she attempts to break down double-standards and lend her voice to sexually dissatisfied women everywhere. April would like to add that she doesn't really know what irreverent means, but she's heard a lot of other comics use it and thought it sounded kinda' cool. "Her comedy is searingly honest," said this guy she knows from working at Hooter's who came to see her show one time. Although she has only been doing comedy for a short period of time, she has been using comedy as a defense her entire life. She loves to perform and her favorite role to play is victim. For April, comedy isn't a career, comedy isn't even a choice. Comedy is a calling!! She totally stole that quote from Bernie Mac... but it's soooo great and she truly believes it is her calling. April also loves to talk about herself in the third person and thinks "bios" are retarded.
Tommy Blaze - Aug 20, 21
Tommy Blaze is Hyena's favorite all time Comedian! Need we say more? He's appeared on just about every TV talk show and the season finale of NBC's Friends, where he played Jennifer Aniston's date. He was the star of the movie Rumplestilskin (one of Vinnie Paul's favorite movies), and also one of the stars on the syndicated comedy series, The Newz. Sheer raw talent, comedic genius, and flawless timing make this show the pick of the year!
Chad Daniels - Aug 27, 28
In 1974, a couple of teenagers decided to skip their post-prom party and go ‘necking’ instead. 9½ months later… a star was born. And in the delivery room next to the star… Chad Daniels was born. It’s always been like that. So close yet so far away. In 1998, after doing open mic at Minneapolis’ ACME Comedy Company, Chad was given the opportunity to be the House MC at the Westward Ho in Grand Forks, ND. Opportunity? Yes, opportunity. Performing six shows a week and having to host karaoke after each show in the dead of winter 60 miles from the Canadian border while living in a 6x8 motel room next to a french fry factory? How could you not agree? When opportunity shows up at Chad's door it shows up as Alan Funt. All those nights in the frozen tundra paid off. Chad began touring the country performing at clubs, colleges, bowling alleys, and Elks’ Lodges.Meanwhile, Chad was starting a family. He married a Genetics professor. STAY IN SCHOOL. Even if you don’t learn anything, wait, sex could be right around the corner. Chad has two beautiful children. “They better be. My wife’s a Genetics professor. Some of my friends have ugly kids. Not fun."
In 2003, Chad performed as a finalist in Comedy Central’s Laugh Riots competition, the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival, which got him enough attention to make his network television debut on the Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn. Since then he has released his debut comedy album, Two Minutes for Stale Hacking, performed on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, recorded his second album, Busy Being Awesome which is due out this spring on Stand-up Records, and taped his own half hour special Comedy Central Presents… Chad Daniels. Don't miss this great, unique act!
